Car Hire Terms & Conditions
Driver
When picking up your rental car, you will need the following documents (all in the name of the main driver):
- Passport or ID Card
- Original Driving License
- Credit Card with enough available funds or Cash
- Voucher
Not accepted:
- Debit Cards
- Someone else's card (including family members)
- Virtual Payments (e.g. Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.)
- Prepaid Cards
Deposit
A deposit will be blocked on the customer’s credit card until the end of the rental period, (pre-authorization). If the credit card is not valid, or there are not sufficient funds in the account, the supplier may refuse to release the vehicle. Ιn case the rental period is more than 20 days, the deposit amount may be charged and not blocked until the end of the rental period.
DEPOSIT PAYMENT METHODS: ONLY CREDIT CARDS, (VISA, MasterCard), in the name of the main driver.
Collision Damage Wavier (CDW) with excess amount
Collision damage Waiver, (C.D.W.), reduces the client’s responsibility up to the maximum excess amount. C.D.W. insurance is included in all bookings made through GetYourRide.rent. C.D.W. does not provide any coverage for costs concerning;
- Damages to the underside and roof of the car.
- Damages to the interior of the car.
- Damages to windshield wipers, antennas, mirrors, any glass parts, wheels – tires.
- Damages to any of the car’s accessories (Child Seats, Baby Seats, Toddler Seats, GPS, Roof Racks, Snow Chains etc).
- Damages to the upholstery of the car.
- Mechanical damages caused by using wrong fuel.
- Damages to mechanical parts caused by an accident.
- Damage or loss of hubcaps.
- Damage or loss of the car keys, damages to the car lock, (either due to customer’s own fault, or from attempted theft).
- Towing costs
- Costs incurred due to lack of electricity from forgotten turned on electrical devices.
- Loss of registration plate(s).
The customer is fully responsible in case of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving on nonasphalt or unpaved roads that are in bad condition, and violation of the local traffic code. In case of accident the customer must inform immediately to the GetYourRide.rent office and the police and fill in the accident report before the end of the rental. C.D.W. does not relieve the client in the event of partial theft or damage caused by the attempted theft, where the excess amount applies.
The customer will be charged with USD 75 for the accident file, (administration expenses irrespectively of the customer’s liability). GetYourRide.rent will replace the damaged car with a similar car group, otherwise depending on the current availability and the distance from the closest rental station.
Rentals Policy
The minimum rental period shall be 1 day (24 Hours) and the maximum shall be determined according to the Agreement. The rental days shall be calculated for 24-hours granting a grace period of 60 minutes from the date and time of the Vehicle Check-In stated in the Agreement.
- In case of rental extension, a new contract is required.
- No refunds or credits are issued for early returns or unused rental days.
- Reservations are always confirmed for a given car group/vehicle-category.
- Vehicle makes & models are examples/references only.
In case specific cars are mentioned, these represent typical examples in terms of size, specifications and overall performance applying to this car group/vehicle- category.
Fuel Policy: “Same to Same”
There are no refueling charges, only the fuel difference will be charged. Vehicles are rented with a minimum of ¼ tank. The client must return the car with the same quantity of fuel as on the Pick-Up. No refund is issued for unused fuel.
Additional Insurance
Additional insurance may be available to purchase locally, upon arrival at the rental station. In case additional insurance is purchased from the local rental desk, the customer will still need to present a refundable deposit of 100 – 250 USD. Additional insurance may not cover Glass, Undercarriage, Tires and other accessories, unless specifically stated. For more detailed information on the availability and coverage of additional insurance, please ask directly at the rental desk.
Zero Excess
Zero excess, (when specifically stated), reduces the excess amount down to zero, (0$), for all car groups. In the event of an accident/damage the renter must immediately contact the local agents. In addition, in the event of an accident/damage, the renter must complete and sign the accident/damage report before the end of the rental. In case zero excess is applied, the customer will still need to present a refundable deposit of 100 – 250$. Zero excess does not include any costs due to the following;
- Damages caused intentionally or by negligence of the authorized driver(s), as stated in the rental agreement.
- Damages to the underside and roof of the car.
- Damages to the interior and upholstery of the car.
- Damages to windshield wipers, antennas, mirrors, any glass parts, wheels – tires.
- Damages to any of the car’s accessories (Child Seats, Baby Seats, Toddler Seats, GPS, Roof Racks, Snow Chains etc)
- Damage or loss of hubcaps.
- Damage or loss of the car keys, damages tothecarlock,(eitherduetocustomer’s own fault, or from attempted theft).
- Towing costs
- Costs incurred due to lack of electricity from forgotten turned on electrical devices.
- Loss of registration plate(s).
Extension Of Rental
To extend a car rental, you can contact the GetYourRide.rent directly or modify your rental through the confirmation email. You should give the rental company as much notice at least 2 Days before.
Age Policy
To rent a car you typically need to be at least 23 years old and maximum age is 75 years and applicable for all vehicle categories/car-groups.
Young Driver Fee: Drivers aged between 23 – 25 years old: 10.00$ per day, with a maximum charge of 80.00$ per rental.
Senior Driver Fee: Drivers aged between 70 – 75 years old: 10.00$ per day, with a maximum charge of 80.00$ per rental.
Insurance Excusions
C.D.W., Additional Insurance and Zero Excess do not cover costs incurred from the following;
- Damages caused from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Costs incurred from parking tickets and fines from the local authorities.
- Damages derived from an accident that was caused due to violation of the traffic code or the commission of conduct.
- Mechanical damages caused by using wrong fuel.
- Damages caused due to inappropriate driving or negligence from the main driver or from any authorized driver stated in the rental agreement.
- Damages caused from driving in unpaved or non-asphalt roads.
- Damages caused while driving inside parking areas.
- Damages caused while entering or exiting a parking area.
- Theft of the vehicle with the keys are still in the ignition.
- Damages caused while the vehicle is parked in a non-allowed parking area.
- Damages caused outside an island or mainland borders in case the vehicle has been transported there without the consent of the rental station.
- Damages caused from natural events, rock falls, acts of vandalism or terrorism.
Cross-Boarders and Driving Restriction
Cross borders travel: Strictly not allowed.
- Dirt - road / off-road / non-asphalt road driving: Strictly not allowed.
- In case the car is used to be driven in the sea shore a fine of 300$ is charged directly to the customer.
Flight Number
Always provide in advance your arrival flight number, so that we can track your flight, stay informed of possible flight delays and better locate you upon your arrival.
Included in the Booking Cost
UNLIMITED MILEAGE
- Each Vehicle is provided with an unlimited Kilometer / Mileage Allowance.
LOCAL TAXES / VAT
THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
- Third party / motor liability insurance is provided for all vehicle rentals through GetYourRide.rent
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
- Roadside assistance only covers assistance and towing of the vehicle(s) to the nearest service facility due to mechanical failure or breakdown.
- Roadside assistance does not cover costs from damages/accidents to the vehicle(s) incurred due to the driver(s) fault or negligence.
VEHICLE REPLACEMENT IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN / ACCIDENT
THEFT WAVIER (THW)
- Theft waiver is included in all vehicle rentals made through GetYourRide.rent. In case of theft, excess amount applies.
3 HOURS GRACE PERIOD FOR VEHICLE PICK-UP
- A correct arrival flight number must be provided in advance of the vehicle pick-up.
- In the event of a flight delay, the pick-up time will be modified accordingly.
Cancellation Policy
- If the Renter wishes to cancel the booking, it is the Renter's responsibility to initiate the cancellation process and it is the renter's responsibility to cancel the booking in advance. When making a booking, the Renter can find the up-to-date cancellation policy at the car search step.
- Online booking cancellation is available in the Bookings section of the Renter’s User Profile. To cancel, the Renter must sign in to User Profile or register using the email specified during the booking process.
- You may cancel your booking and receive a 100% refund within 48 hours after confirmation.
- If you cancel your booking later than 48 hours after confirmation and up to 48 hours before pick-up you still can receive a 100% refund.
- Bookings made within 48 hours of the pick-up time are non-refundable.
- Cancellation and refund to the original payment method is not available if requested less than 48 hours before the pick-up.
- Flight delays and cancellations are out of our control, so unfortunately we cannot take any responsibility for any problems or costs caused by them.
No-Show
No refund will be issued in the event of a No-show that is considered as:
- Failure to collect a car without prior cancellation,– no refund will be issued.
- Failure to collect a car at the date and time provided in the Confirmation voucher.
- Failure to bring all necessary documentation (voucher, driving license/s, passport etc) requested by GetYourRide.rent (information is provided in the rental conditions).
- Failure to bring a credit card under the main driver’s name stated on the booking with enough available funds.
- No refund will be applied for unused hours or days.
- GetYourRide.rent has the right not to provide the service to any Renter who failed to collect a car at the reserved date and time with all mandatory documentation and a credit card in the main driver’s full name with enough available funds or if the Renter comes for a car collection under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
